Your Essential Honeymoon Packing List

towelAfter all the planning and prepping you’ve done in the months leading up to your wedding, your honeymoon will be a well deserved break! It’s best to take some time in the last two weeks before your wedding to stop and pack for the honeymoon. You’ll be so thankful you did the morning after your wedding! While your needs will vary depending on where you’re honeymooning, there are quite a few things you’ll need that you can prep ahead of time.

Toiletries – pack all of your travel sized toiletries well in advance. Also, if you need to bring medication with you, get an extra supply and include that in your carry on.

Beach Totes – a large beach tote comes in handy, even if your vacation doesn’t involve sun and sand! Use them to carry all of your day to day essentials, or keep one on hand to use as a shopping bag when you’re out and about.

Bad Weather Gear – we hope your whole vacation is full of sun shine, but it doesn’t hurt to be prepared for the rain! Bring an umbrella or two and you’ll stay dry and ready for adventure.

Flip Flops – You’ll want them for the beach and for walking around the hotel at night, and maybe even in the shower. Bring two pairs just in case of emergency.

If you’ve already gone on your honeymoon, what were some of your “can’t live with out it” items?

Keeping Cool With Wedding Program Fans

weddingfanOutdoor weddings are hugely popular during the spring and summer months, and for good reason. Just imagine getting married in a garden in full bloom, or at the edge of a forest. A wedding that takes place in the middle of nature gives the couple a natural and breathtaking sort of décor that can’t be reproduced indoors. One of the only downsides to an outdoors wedding is, as you might have guessed, the heat.

A ceremony under the sun can be difficult to manage. Guests are seated close together and the heat can build to a critical level. Tents may keep the sun out of their eyes, but will they trap the heat underneath? Rather than risk wilting guests, why not give them a multi-purpose favor to help beat the heat?

Wedding Program Fans are the ultimate summer wedding accessory. Made from heavier card stock, they hold their shape and make an effective fan for guests to cool themselves. On top of that – they’re the perfect wedding program. You can save paper by combining the two essentials into one!

Daisy Days specializes in wedding program fans, from the already assembled to the DIY options that allow you to create a one of a kind program. You can add photos, or find themed fans for beach weddings. Whatever your theme, our wedding program fans are the perfect addition!

Wedding Timelines – When To Order Your Favors

What's the best time to order your favors?

What's the best time to order your favors?

One of the most common questions we get here at Daisy-Days.com is when exactly should brides order their wedding favors. And our answer is, well, it depends. If you’ve been thinking about favors or are getting ready to make a decision, we decided to put together a quick guide to make sure you get the favors you’re dreaming of in time for your wedding day.

In general, you can start thinking about favors and browsing wedding favors online any time at all. However, you should start to narrow down your choices around 4 months from the wedding and place your order 2-3 months before the big day. This will give you plenty of time for shipping and then packaging them. However, if any of the following apply to you, you may need to adjust your timeline:

  • Custom Favors – Any sort of customization, whether it be adding your monogram to the package or a completely custom made favor, will take longer to produce. Most favors are already made and simply need to be packed and shipped, but any custom work, which includes printing, engraving or other personalization, can add a few days or even up to a week onto your timeline. Be safe and order personalized favors 3-4 months before the wedding.
  • Edible Favors – Everyone loves a snack, which is why edible wedding favors have grown so popular. If you’re thinking about sending everyone home with a tasty treat, be sure to check on how long you can store the favors. Buying candles 6 months before the wedding is just fine, but buying cookies 6 months before the wedding can result in stale favors! Edible gifts should be ordered closer to the 2 month mark, and you should check on the best way to store them – usually a cook, dark space will work best.
  • DIY Favors – if any element of your favors is Do-It-Yourself – make sure you have enough time to complete your project before your wedding. Many brides like to custom decorate their favor packaging, so give yourself an extra week or two to make sure you can finish this up with all of your other wedding tasks.

If you have any questions on when to order your favors, feel free to give us a call. The experts at Daisy-Days.com are always ready to help!

Spring Inspiration – Butterfly Gardens

butterflyweddingfavorWith the Spring wedding season entering full swing, we wanted to share some of our favorite themes this year: butterflies. Ever since Martha put that elegant butterfly cake on the cover of Martha Stewart Weddings, butterfly themed weddings have been huge! A symbol of renewal and new life, they’re the perfect décor for celebrating your new life together.

You can include delicate butterfly details in any part of your ceremony or reception that you like. Here are a few of our favorite uses of butterfly in weddings:

Butterfly Invitations – You can set the tone for your wedding day with elegant invitations embellished with butterflies. From the classic spring garden look to a bold modern design, butterflies always look good!

Ceremony Décor – Just about anything you might need for your ceremony comes with butterflies on it, or can be embellished with crystal butterflies. Add a few special touches to your unity candle and even in your bouquet to tie the theme together without being overwhelming.

At the Reception – You don’t want to go too overboard with the butterflies, so just pick one or two elements to add them to. You could sprinkle butterfly shaped confetti on the tables, or even use butterfly themed favors. And of course, you can always model your cake after that famous inspiration photo!

What are your favorite pieces of butterfly wedding inspiration?
